MONOMERS
METHYL METACRYLAMIDE
VINYL ACETAT MONOMER
Product Description: Vinyl acetate monomer is a colorless liquid with a low flash point. It has a characteristic odor. Vinyl acetate monomer is soluble in most organic solvents including chlorinated solvents , but is not soluble in water. Vinyl acetate monomer is easily polymerized with acrylate esters to produce polymers. It is inhibited with hydroquinone.
Application: Vinyl acetate monomer is a chemical building block used for a wide variety of industrial and consumer products. Polyvinyl acetate is used to produce paints, adhesives, coatings for flexible substrates and sizing for polyester fiber-fill insulation textiles. Polyvinyl alcohol can be used to produce adhesives, coatings and water soluble packaging films. Polyvinyl acetals are used to produce insulation for magnetic wire, inter-layers for safety glass, wash primers and coatings.
STREN MONOMER
BUTHYLE ACRYLATE
Product Description: Butyl acrylate is a clear colorless liquid with a characteristic fruity odor. It is readily miscible with most organic solvents. It is readily polymerized and displays a wide range of properties dependent upon the selection of the monomer and reaction conditions.
Application: Butyl acrylate is used in the production of homopolymers and co-polymers such as acrylic acid and its salts, esters, amides, methacrylates, acrylonitrile, maleates, vinyl acetate, vinyl chloride, vinylidene chloride, styrene, butadiene and unsaturated polyesters.
METHYL METHACRYLATE
Product Description: Methyl methacrylate is a widely used chemical which readily polymerises if not properly controlled by inhibitors and/or storage conditions. It is primarily used in the manufacturing of polymethyl methacrylate thermoplastic polymers (PMMA) which are used in many applications such as cast and extruded sheet, resins for injection moulding and extrusion. Methyl methacrylate polymers and copolymers are also used in surface coatings (solventand emulsion-based), adhesives, polymer concrete and embedding materials.
Application: Methyl methacrylate has two main industrial uses:
- Use as a chemical intermediate: Methyl methacrylate is transesterified into higher methacrylates such as n-butyl methacrylate or 2-ethylhexyl methacrylate
- Use as monomer for polymerisation: The homo- and copolymers derived from Methyl methacrylate are used in the manufacture of products with a wide range of applications: Acrylic cast and extruded sheet used in architecture and design, construction, transport and sanitary ware;
2 ETHYLHEXYL ACRYLATE
Product Description: 2-Ethylhexyl acrylate is a water white liquid with a characteristic odor. It is supplied inhibited to prevent polymerization. It is a stable product, with only negligible solubility in water. It is readily polymerized and displays a range of properties dependent upon the selection of the monomer and reaction conditions.
Application: 2-ethylhexyl acrylate is used in the production of homopolymers. It is also used in the production of co-polymers, for example acrylic acid and its salts, esters, amides, methacrylates, acrylonitrile, maleates, vinyl acetate, vinyl chloride, vinylidene chloride, styrene, butadiene and unsaturated polyesters. 2-ethylhexyl acrylate is also used in pressure sensitive adhesives.
ETHYLE ACRYLATE
Product Description: Ethyl acrylate is a clear, colorless liquid with a pungent odor. It is readily miscible with most organic solvents. It is readily polymerized and displays a range of properties dependent upon the selection of the monomer and reaction conditions.
Application: Ethyl acrylate is used in the production of homopolymers. It is also used in the production of co-polymers, for example acrylic acid and its salts, esters, amides, methacrylates, acrylonitrile, maleates, vinyl acetate, vinyl chloride, vinylidene chloride, styrene, butadiene and unsaturated polyesters. In addition, ethyl acrylate is used in chemical synthesis.
METHYLE ACRILIC ACID
Product Description: Methyl acrylate is a clear, colorless, volatile liquid with a slight solubility in water and complete solubility in alcohols, ethers and many organic solvents. Although the monomer can be polymerized under the influence of heat, light, ionic or high energy mechanisms, free radical initiation is the most commonly used method of polymerization.
Application: Methyl acrylate is used in the production of coatings, elastomers, adhesives, thickeners, amphoteric surfactants, fibers, plastics, textiles and inks.. Methyl acrylate is also used in chemical synthesis.
ACETATE
BUTHYLE ACETATE
Product Description: Butyl acetate is a colorless solvent with medium volatility and a characteristic fruity ester odor. It has excellent solvency characteristics for polymers, resins, oils and cellulose nitrate and is miscible with all common organic solvents.
Application: Coatings, coatings for plastic, nail care, cosmetic / personal care solvent, fragrance solvent, extraction solvent, leather industry, pharmaceuticals, cleaners
ETHYLE ACETATE
Product Description: Ethyl Acetate is a colourless liquid with fruity odour. It is soluble in most organic solvents such as alcohol, acetone, ether, chloroform etc. and slightly soluble in water. It is highly broken down in both air and water. Ethyl Acetate is a choice of solvent in following applications due to its least toxicity, agreeable odour, high purity and cost efficiency.
Application: Flexible Packaging, Ink, Adhesives and Coatings, Pharmaceuticals, Rubber and Polymers, Flavours and Essences, Decaffeinating of Tea and Coffee, Nail polish remover, Electronic chemical
ISO BUTHYLE ACETATE
Product Description: Isobutyl acetate is a colorless solvent with medium volatility and a characteristic fruity ester odor. It has good solvency characteristics for polymers, resins, oils, and cellulose nitrate and is miscible with all common organic solvents.1 Its structure contributes to effective viscosity reduction and to improved solvent diffusion from coating films. It has strong solvency and proper volatility for high-solids coatings and printing-ink applications. Its high electrical-resistivity properties provide advantages in formulating high-solids coatings for electrostatic spray applications.
Application: Essentially all isobutyl acetate is used as a solvent for paints and surface coatings, mainly in solvent-borne wood furniture varnishes and, to a lesser degree, in architectural coatings, with some use in inks and adhesives.
